Botox (Onabotulinum toxin A) and Dysport (Abobotulinum toxin A) are injectable neuromodulators that relax muscle contractions for non-surgical wrinkle treatment.
While Botox and Dysport are similar, there are some differences. Dysport is FDA approved for glabellar lines, whereas Botox is approved for lines of the glabellar, forehead and crow’s feet.
Dysport is claimed by some to have a faster onset of 2-3 days, compared with Botox, which is one week. Some results show Dysport to last up to 5 months, while Botox lasts up to 6 months.

If one has a milk allergy, then Dysport is contraindicated. Both Dysport and Botox are contraindicated for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, bleeding disorder, anyone taking certain medications, an allergy to botulinum toxin, or neuromuscular disorders such as Parkinsons, ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), Myasthenia Gravis, Eaton Lambert Syndrome), an active skin condition such as a rash, eczema, psoriasis, or herpes and other absolute contraindications.

Daxxify is an alternative neurotoxin to Botox and Dysport. Its formulation is made of daxibotulinum. The Daxi peptide binds to the nerve and relaxes it and this effect is prolonged. Daxxify is used for the treatment of wrinkles, in the same way that Botox and Dysport are used. Patient measurable results are usually visible with 2 days of treatment and lasts about 6-8 months. Therefore, the onset and effective length of time is longer for Daxxify compared with Botox or Dysport.
